I know I’m scared too.

Yesterday, seemingly out of nowhere, we (Australia) have been granted App Store price parity with the USA. This means we now pay the same for apps as our American cousins.

I never thought I would see the day.

Obviously this won’t help us in getting cheaper prices for all apps. In particular, greedy evil corporations that insist on having separate “world” apps – like EA and Sega – for the sole purpose of price discrimination, will continue to treat us with extreme prejudice, giving us the arse end of the stick by charging us extra for the privilege of using their apps.

Those people who read my personal twitter feed (@jive69) will know I recently got banned from commenting on AppAdvice. After reading one too many of their off-topic stories ripping on Android, I kinda told them they were trashy tabloid bloggers who should open an Android hate-blog. My bad I guess.

This is interesting. Apple Insider reports that the upcoming iteration of iOS will contain widget support.

AppleInsider:
Apple will unveil a new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 5, at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, featuring widgets and a revamped notification system, a new report claims.

Pretty big news for iOS users. Huge. Android has enjoyed this “luxury” of customisation since it’s initial release, and it’s a brilliant feature of that OS. Frankly, the iPad in particular screams widgets. It yells “give them to me Mr. Jobs!”

The biggest question on everyone’s minds since the Twitter buyout of TweetDeck went through was: WTF will happen to TweetDeck?! It doesn’t seem logical for a business to acquire a product similar to its own (even if it is better), and yet continue to run both products concurrently.

Seriously, something bad is going to go down, I can feel it. Why? Because I’m attached to this application, and the world is out to break my balls.
